Tomato Planter Upside Down

You can actually go upside down for growing a garden. Quite simply the upside down tomato garden is possible. These planters are pre made and all you need to do is add adequate potting soil (premixed with compost and fertilizer) and plant the seedling of the plant and water the plant.  Choosing the right seedling for planting your upside down tomato garden

 When choosing the tomato seedlings for growing the upside down tomato garden, you need to be careful. The plant should be as tall as it’s wide. Avoid plants that look very spindly. You should plant the seedlings that look healthy. Also look at the leaves of the plants. If the leaves have curled up or appear wilted, then take another plant.

 Mixing soil with fertilizer and its timely application

 A good quality potting soil is equally necessary. The soil should be pre mixed with fertilizer before you plant the seedling. The upside down tomato garden also needs fertilizer when the fruits start to appear. If you have sandy soil, then apply fertilizer more often than if you have clay soils for a healthy upside down tomato garden.

 Usually 2 tablespoons of fertilizer scattered over the soil and mixed inside the soil would do the trick. But if the nitrogen content in the fertilizer is high, then about a single tablespoon should be enough.

 Since tomatoes are 85% water, they need to be watered frequently. You would need to water the upside down tomato garden more if you are living in hotter climates as evaporation rates are higher.
